Hello, good day and thanks for your question. I understand that you are looking into cancelling your Microsoft 365 subscription.

For this, it will be best to check and confirm that the device that you will purchase will include Microsoft 365 as the current subscription that you have can still be used if you will be switching to a Macbook as you can go to account.microsoft.com/services and install it from there.

If you are still decided to cancel, the documents that you have will still be accessible but you will have limited actions that you can do and you can also see the Microsoft support links below.

If the subscription was purchased directly from Microsoft:

    1. Go to Subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account used to buy the subscription.
    2. Find the Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
    3. Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
    4. Follow the prompts to complete cancellation.

If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage or Cancel, the subscription is already set to expire and no further action is required. The subscription remains usable until the expiry date.

If the subscription was purchased through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or another retailer, cancellation and billing must be handled with that provider directly. Microsoft cannot cancel, refund, or modify billing for third-party subscriptions.

Existing documents remain accessible. The context states that after canceling Microsoft 365, storage reverts to 5 GB of cloud storage for OneDrive and Outlook.com attachments, plus 15 GB of Outlook.com storage. If current usage is above the free allowance, storage allowances are reduced after cancellation.
