I am experiencing intermittent issues with Outlook, including my inbox not fully loading, certain emails failing to open, and emails occasionally not sending. The issue appears to be inconsistent, as some messages will load while others will not.

    Hello,

Since the issue is intermittent, please first open Outlook.com in a Microsoft Edge InPrivate window and temporarily disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers. If it works normally there, clear the cookies/cache for Outlook.com and then test again.

For sending or receiving issues, please follow:

If the same problem occurs in multiple browsers or devices, please let I

For Outlook.com and Outlook on the web, intermittent inbox loading, emails not opening, and occasional send/receive issues are commonly tied to browser extensions, inbox filtering, or account validation.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Check for browser extension interference
      • If ad or pop-up blockers are enabled, especially AdBlock or Ublock, Outlook.com may load slowly, time out, or fail to load emails.
      • Exclude Outlook.com from the blocker, or disable/remove the extension.
      • If using Firefox, certain add-ons can prevent the Inbox from loading. Disable or remove Firefox add-ons and test again.
      • If possible, test in Microsoft Edge or another browser.
    2. Check whether messages are being filtered out of view
      • Open the Other tab and confirm messages are not landing there.
      • If Focused Inbox is enabled, messages may appear under Other instead of Focused.
      • Check the Junk Email folder. If a message is there by mistake, mark it as Not junk.
      • Restore message sorting to chronological order by selecting Filter > Sort > Date.
    3. Check Outlook.com settings that can hide or redirect mail
      • Verify that email forwarding is not enabled.
      • Review email rules and remove any rule that may be moving, deleting, or hiding messages.
    4. If email is not sending
      • Sending problems can be caused by Microsoft account validation issues.
      • Follow the steps in Microsoft account security info & verification codes.
    5. If mail still does not load or send reliably
      • If a specific message is missing and no error appears, ask the sender to review Sender Support in Outlook.com.
      • If the issue continues after the checks above, use the Outlook.com interactive troubleshooter.
