    Dear @Stéphan Toupin,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that Classic Outlook has been experiencing multiple issues since yesterday and is still not working properly. The problems have significantly impacted your productivity, resulting in the loss of a full day of work.

To better understand the behavior, could you please confirm the following:

    • What specific error messages or symptoms are you seeing in Classic Outlook?
    • Is Outlook failing to open, crashing, freezing, or unable to send/receive emails?
    • Does the issue affect only Classic Outlook, or does Outlook on the web work normally?
    • When did the problem first start, and were there any recent updates or changes made to your device?
    • Are other users in your organization experiencing similar issues?

Your confirmation would be very helpful in ensuring you receive the most suitable support!

If you’re able to share a bit more about your situation, I might be able to suggest some helpful next steps.

Kindly let me know when there are updates or if you need further assistance. Any updates you’re able to share would be really helpful.

I look forward to hearing how things are going!

Thank you for your time and patience.

For classic Outlook on Windows, use this order:

    1. Check for a hidden dialog box
      • Press Alt+Tab and look for any Outlook confirmation window.
      • If one is open, respond to it first. Outlook can appear frozen until that dialog is closed.
    2. Check whether Outlook is still processing
      • Look at the status bar at the bottom of Outlook.
      • If it is moving or deleting a large number of items, sending a large attachment, or running a background task, wait a few minutes.
    3. Start Outlook in safe mode
      • Close Outlook.
      • Open Start and run: Outlook.exe /safe
      • If Outlook works in safe mode, an add-in may be causing the issue.
      • Then go to File > Options > Add-Ins > COM Add-ins > Go.
      • Clear all add-ins, select OK, and restart Outlook normally.
      • If Outlook then works, re-enable add-ins one at a time to find the one causing the problem.
    4. Install Windows and Office updates
      • Install the latest Windows updates.
      • Install the latest Microsoft 365 or Office updates.
      • Outlook freezing and not responding is commonly resolved by current updates.
    5. Repair Office
      • Close all Microsoft 365 apps.
      • Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
      • Right-click Microsoft Office 2016 and select Change.
      • Try repair.
    6. Repair Outlook data files
      • Run the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) to scan and repair Outlook data files.
      • This is useful when Outlook data files are corrupted or damaged.
    7. Test with a new Outlook profile
      • Create a new Outlook profile.
      • Then close Outlook.
      • Hold Shift while restarting Outlook.
      • In Choose Profile, select the new profile and choose OK.
      • If Outlook works with the new profile, the original profile is likely corrupted.
    8. If Outlook freezes when opening a file or sending mail, also check these common causes
      • External content in email
      • Add-ins
      • Large mailbox
      • Antivirus conflicts
      • Another program conflicting with Outlook
    9. For classic Outlook on Windows 10 or later, run the Classic Outlook Advanced Diagnostics troubleshooter in Get Help if needed.

If Outlook works in safe mode but fails normally, focus first on disabling add-ins. If it fails in both safe mode and normal mode, focus next on Office repair, data file repair, and a new profile.
