Does anyone know how to contact a live person to cancel a subscription?

Azure makes it extremely difficult to do this.

    Hi Joe,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the cancellation of your Azure subscription.

If you have the appropriate billing permissions, you can cancel the subscription yourself by following these steps:

    1. Sign in and access the Azure Subscriptions page directly using this link: https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Billing/SubscriptionsBlade
    2. Select the Azure subscription you want to cancel.
    3. On the Overview page, select Cancel subscription, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
    4. Reference: Cancel and delete your Azure subscription - Microsoft Cost Management | Microsoft Learn

Before canceling, please consider backing up any data you need and stopping or deleting active Azure resources to help prevent further usage charges.

If you cannot cancel the subscription, do not see the cancellation option, lack the required permissions, or need assistance from a support representative, you can create an Azure support request:

    1. In the Azure portal, select the? icon in the upper-right corner.
    2. Briefly describe the issue, for example: “Cancel subscription.”
    3. Select Subscription management, and then click Next.
    4. User's image
    5. Select Create a support request at the top of the page to continue submitting your request.
    6. User's image
    7. Then follow the on-screen steps to complete and submit your support request.
    8. On the support request creation page, review the recommended solutions in Step 2. If the recommended solutions do not resolve the issue, select Return to support request to continue creating and submitting your support request.

Billing and subscription management support is available to Azure customers without requiring a paid technical support plan. Please note that subscription cancellation requests may require you to be the Account Billing Administrator for the subscription.

I hope this information is helpful. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.

    Dear @Joe Zukauskas

If you're trying to cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription, you can do this from the Microsoft 365 admin center:

admin.microsoft.com --> Billing --> Your products --> select the subscription --> Cancel subscription

If you would like to cancel your Azure subscription, you can do this directly from the Azure Portal:

    1. Sign in to the Azure Portal.
    2. Go to Subscriptions.
    3. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
    4. Select Cancel subscription.
    5. Follow the instructions to confirm the cancellation.

You need the appropriate permissions on the subscription to cancel it.

If none of the above options work or the Cancel subscription option isn't available, you'll need to contact Microsoft Support for assistance with the cancellation. Go to the Azure Portal --> Help + support --> Create a support request, and select relevant subscription option.

    User's image

What kind of subscription are you trying to cancel? (Azure or M365)

    Best regards,
    Bence

Use Microsoft Support contact flow for subscription cancellation help:

    1. Go to Contact Microsoft Support.
    2. Enter the problem and select Get Help.
    3. If more help is needed, select Contact Support to reach the best support option.

If the subscription is a Microsoft 365 business subscription and cancellation is blocked:

    1. Check whether the subscription has more than 25 licenses. If it does, reduce it to 25 or fewer before canceling online.
    2. If cancellation is still unavailable, contact support.

If the issue is specifically an Azure subscription, only the subscription owner without a condition can cancel it. If that permission is missing, contact the person in the organization who has it.
