Hi Rebecca,
A replacement charge of HKD 2,732 can feel quite high, so I totally understand why you would wonder whether it could simply be repaired instead of being replaced. However, Microsoft generally does not offer component-level repair services for Surface keyboards and accessories. In most cases, the only option is a replacement.
Regarding the warranty, Surface keyboards, including the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard, normally come with a 1-year Limited Hardware Warranty from the original purchase date. You can check the warranty status by registering the device under your Microsoft account and reviewing the coverage information.
I wish I could help more directly, but Microsoft Q&A is just a user-to-user support forum. Contributors here cannot review your service order or decide if repair is applicable for your device. If you'd like Microsoft to check your options or verify the warranty, you can contact Microsoft Support:
- Visit Contact Us - Microsoft Support > Sign in
- Enter / choose an issue > Get Help to make request
- Scroll down > click Contact Support to connect to an agent
- Select a category > continue and you should reach a chat option.
- If you don't see it, go through another category (e.g. Billings, payment...)
Note: The support contact team only works at certain times, so if the last window shows that it's unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. This way, they can call you and help you.
If the keyboard is already out of warranty, unfortunately support may also have limited options beyond the replacement service currently being offered.
