Hi walks dogs,
I understand how exhausting it can be when a simple sign-in repeatedly turns into a long verification process.
Windows 11 already supports passwordless sign-in through Windows Hello and passkeys, but whether these options can be used depends on the website and the sign-in methods supported by that service. Microsoft Authenticator itself is primarily designed for mobile devices rather than as a standalone Windows 11 authenticator app.
To better understand what is going wrong, could you please clarify:
- What exactly happens when you try to sign in to Facebook or another affected website?
- Are you being asked for a verification code, approval notification, passkey, or security key?
- Which browser are you using?
- Do you see an exact error message? If possible, please share a screenshot with personal information covered.
If the problem involves Microsoft Authenticator, please also confirm whether notifications or verification codes are failing on the phone. You can review Microsoft’s official guidance here: Troubleshoot problems with Microsoft Authenticator.
While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.
