When i am asked to sign in, I enter all requested data. I am then given a code for authentication. I enter it and it tells me to wait while my device is registered. After a while, I get this message. I do not know how to get out of it. Can anyone help?

    Dear @Reid Vass,

Please understand that this forum is a public platform, and moderators will modify your question to cover your personal information in the description. Please notice to hide these personal or organization information next time you post error or some information to protect personal data.Based on the screenshot, the authentication itself appears to succeed, but the failure occurs during the device registration process.

This can occur when the device has a stale Work/School account registration, an incomplete Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) join, or when device enrollment is being blocked by tenant policies.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

1/Try to disconnect and reconnect your account to your device:

    • Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
    • If the affected work account is listed, select it and choose Disconnect.
    • Restart the device.
    • Try signing in again.

2/You can also check the device registration state by opening an elevated Command Prompt and running:

    dsregcmd /status

Review the Device State section and verify whether the device is already Azure AD joined or workplace joined.

If you have tried all the methods above but still not resolve the issue, I recomend you contact to your Admin who can use the Request ID to investigate the failure in the Entra ID sign-in logs and determine whether the issue is related to device enrollment restrictions, device limits, or registration failures.

Please understand that this is a forum and as a forum user I don’t have access to internal systems or test devices required to resolve backend issues, I truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.

    Hi Reid Vass,

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when the sign-in process appears to complete but then gets stuck while registering your device.

To help narrow down the cause, could you please provide the exact error message or a screenshot of what appears after the "wait while your device is registered" step? The current information does not show the specific error, which makes it difficult to identify the underlying issue.

In the meantime, you can try these quick checks:

    1. Restart your device and attempt the sign-in process again.
    2. Verify that your internet connection is stable throughout the registration process.
    3. If possible, try signing in from a different network or hotspot.
    4. Confirm whether you are using a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account, as the registration requirements may differ.

Once you can share the exact error message or screenshot, the community will be in a much better position to suggest targeted troubleshooting steps.

Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
