Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I am contacting you on behalf of [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] because we need assistance recovering access to our Microsoft 365 Business account.

We have received Microsoft billing emails relating to a Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscription, but we are unable to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center to manage the subscription or pay the outstanding invoice.

The details we have are the following:

Company name: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Billing profile: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Organization name: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Subscription: Microsoft 365 Business Standard Number of licenses: 1 Primary Tenant ID: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Notification email: [[Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Domain used by the company: fissoresrl.com

We recently received a past due invoice notification with the following details:

Invoice number: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Amount past due: EUR 15.54 Billing date: September 6, 2026 Due date: September 6, 2026 Status: Past due

We also found a previous Microsoft email confirming that the Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscription was due to renew on September 4, 2026, with recurring billing enabled.

The issue is that when we try to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or identify the organization using the domain fissoresrl.com, Microsoft says that the domain is not present in the system. We therefore cannot access the admin center, identify the administrator account, manage the subscription, or pay the outstanding invoice.

We need your assistance to identify or recover the Global Administrator / Billing Administrator account associated with this tenant, or to open the appropriate account recovery procedure.

We can provide any company documentation required to verify ownership of Fissore srl and of the Microsoft 365 subscription.

Please let us know how we should proceed.

Kind regards,

[Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, I am unable to identify the original Microsoft 365 administrator account associated with the subscription.

I do not know who originally created or configured the Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscription for [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]. It may have been set up by an external IT technician or consultant, and I do not remember who that person was. It is therefore possible that the original administrator account was created using the technician’s own email address or another account that is not currently known to us.

I have searched the mailbox where we receive the billing notifications, including for the keyword “onmicrosoft”, but I have not been able to locate any message identifying the original administrator account.

For this reason, we need assistance from Microsoft to recover or identify the Global Administrator / Billing Administrator account associated with our tenant.

    The tenant details are:

Company name: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Subscription: Microsoft 365 Business Standard Number of licenses: 1 Primary Tenant ID: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Billing notification email: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Domain: fissoresrl.com

We can provide any company documentation required to verify ownership of Fissore srl and of the subscription.

Could you please advise how we can contact the Microsoft Data Protection team or open the appropriate recovery procedure, given that we cannot access the Microsoft 365 admin center?

    Kind regards,

[Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]

    Hello Nicola,

Based on what you've shared, I would suggest trying to locate the original Microsoft 365 administrator account associated with the subscription first.

When a Microsoft 365 Business subscription is purchased, Microsoft typically sends a confirmation email containing the administrator account. This account is usually the default Global Administrator and is used to manage users, licenses, billing, domains, and other Microsoft 365 services. The account is often in the following format: ******@tenantname.onmicrosoft.com.

For this reason, I recommend searching the mailbox that was used to purchase the subscription for the keyword "onmicrosoft". This may help you locate the original administrator account associated with the tenant.

If you find a message containing an onmicrosoft.com address, try signing in with the associated account at Microsoft 365 admin center. This allows you to access your tenant and manage the subscription's billing in Billing > Bills & payments to pay the outstanding balance.

If you are unable to locate any administrator account, you'll need to contact Microsoft's Data Protection team for assistance. They are the only team authorized to help recover access in these situations.

You can find Microsoft's support numbers here: Contact Microsoft customer support.(Work account)

    Tips for navigating the IVR:

In some countries, an automated voice system is used. Example of a dialogue:

IVR: What problem is bothering you?

Client: Lost access to the only admin account

IVR: What product do you use?

    Customer: Office 365 for business

    IVR: School or Business Account?

    Client: Companies

    IVR: Are you an administrator?

    Client: Yes

IVR: Is there another administrator in your organization?

Client: No. I am the only admin in my tenant

IVR: Do you need to create a support ticket?

Client: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me direct to the Data Protection Teams.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out.
