Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hello Venkata Panyam
The answer already posted covers the core path correctly by AI, I would like to add some additional information.
A consumer Microsoft 365 subscription is locked to its purchase region, so the Canadian one has to expire or be cancelled before you can buy a US one. I'll add three things it doesn't mention.
First, is this a permanent move or a temporary stay?
It's recommended that changing your region only if you're moving for a long time. If you're in the USA temporarily, don't cancel anything keep the account set to Canada and just make sure a valid Canadian card is on file at account.microsoft.com/billing/payments. It will renew normally while you're abroad, and you skip all the disruption below.
Second, check your OneDrive usage before you cancel.
Cancelling drops you to 5 GB of cloud storage plus 15 GB of Outlook.com storage. If you're above that, you won't be able to upload, edit or sync files, you won't be able to send or receive Outlook.com email, and after 6 months Microsoft may delete your OneDrive and all files in it. If you're over the free allowance, download or free up space before the subscription lapses.
Third, if the region change itself is refused, the cause may be unrelated to your subscription.
If you changed your country or region within the last three months, or your account is suspended for example a card on a subscription has expired, or there's a balance due. Clearing an outstanding balance may unblock the change on its own.
If it's still blocked after the old subscription is gone, you can contact Microsoft Support directly for further assistance:
