    Hi,

Which version of macOS are you downloading?

Did you download it via the App Store or a browser?

Have you tried getting the PKG from this link?

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/download-office

    Thanks.

On Mac, the installer should open from Finder > Downloads as Microsoft Office installer.pkg. Since the icon appears briefly and closes, try this sequence:

    1. Open Finder > Downloads.
    2. Double-click Microsoft Office installer.pkg again.
    3. If macOS shows that the file is from an unidentified developer, wait 10 seconds, move the downloaded file to the Desktop, then hold Control and click the file to launch the installer.
    4. If the installer opens, select Continue, review the license, select Agree, then Install.
    5. If prompted, enter the Mac login password and select Install Software.
    6. When installation finishes, select Close.

If the installer still closes immediately:

    1. Confirm the Mac is running a supported macOS version. Microsoft 365 for Mac, Office 2024 for Mac, and Office 2021 for Mac support the three most recent major versions of macOS.
    2. If Office 2024 was already associated with the Microsoft account, sign in again and reinstall from the account’s install page.
    3. If installation still fails, use the Mac install troubleshooting page for Mac-specific download and installation issues.
