What is the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime app?

I found something weird on my computer lately. I found this new app named Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime in the apps section in settings. What is this app and why do I have it installed? Is it a necessary app or can I uninstall it? I inserted an image for you to get an idea of what I am talking about.

This is a necessary app. Edge Webview uses the Edge engine to enable some apps for using some web technologies, like HTML 5 or CSS. Long story short, if you uninstall it, some apps will not work properly.

Just give the long story or a link because this is the same answer we find behind every service (if there even is any!!), and yet if we turn it off we don't miss anything.. Windows runs fine and actually much better with 70% of the processes and services off or only on when necessary..

this can be uninstalled using the free version of ccleaner (known as **** cleaner)

i have no issue`s at this time after uninstalling but thats not to say i will not have any in the future. i am mearly pointing out it can be dumped

Rodgigo I am having a issue where task manager won't open can't Uninstaller anything can't do like anything and that Microsoft edge webview runtime2 is only thing I didn't recognize but even if I wanted I can't Uninstalvut
