Issue with File Explorer in the Windows 11

I have just updated to Windows 11.

When I switch on my PC. If I left click the File Explorer app on the taskbar. My screen just goes white for a second, taskbar briefly disappears, then back to the desktop screen again, no File Explorer window opens?

Same thing happens if I right click on my desktop screen. Screen goes white for a second, taskbar briefly disappears, then back to desktop screen again. No right click menu opens?

For the File Explorer click, I see the following entry in Event Viewer:

Faulting application name: explorer.exe, version: 10.0.22000.120, time stamp: 0xe846e749

Have tried all sorts of help online e.g. sfc /scannow, DISM, changing FE options, Powershell etc

Any ideas?

    Hello all

I installed CS4 again today, without Adobe Drive, still same issue remained. As a member in the Adobe community suggested, navigated to the below RegKeys and deleted them. Issue is solved.

    Thanks guys. Daz

Open Regedit and delete these two entries:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers{C95FFEAE-A32E-4122-A5C4-49B5BFB69795}

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers{C95FFEAE-A32E-4122-A5C4-49B5BFB69795}

Try perform a Clean Boot and see if the problem persist?

Take a look at How to perform a clean boot in Windows (microsoft.com).

Also try Safe mode and see if the problem persist?

Take a look at Start your PC in safe mode in Windows (microsoft.com).

I have worked out how to get File Explorer and Right Click to work as they should. E.g. File Explorer window to open on left click and Right Click desktop to show the menu. Here's what I've tried so far...

If I start the PC and once loaded, doing nothing else, from the desktop screen, left click on File Explorer. Screen flashes white, back to desktop, no File Explorer window.

If I start the PC and once loaded, doing nothing else, from the desktop screen, right click the desktop screen. Screen flashes white, back to desktop, no menu.

If I start the PC and once loaded, doing nothing else, from the desktop screen, right click start and select Event Viewer. Close Event Viewer, left click File Explorer, it works as intended.

If I start the PC and once loaded, from the desktop screen, right click start and select Device Manager. Close Device Manager, right click the Desktop, menu appears as intended.

    More testing reveals...

If I start the PC and once loaded, doing nothing else, from the desktop screen, right click Start and select any of the following:

    Apps and Features

    Power Options

    Settings

    Network Connections

    Windows Terminal

    Windows Terminal (Admin)

Same again, screen flashes white, taskbar icons disappear briefly ... back to desktop again!

Selecting any of the following and immediately close them again:

    Disk Management

    Event Viewer

    Device Manager

    Computer Management

    Task Manager

Will resolve the issue. Can then left click on File Explorer and it opens normally, also right click on desktop will bring up the menu, no flash of screen.

    Weird!

Could you please tell us the version of Windows 11 you're running? Press Windows+R, type winver, hit enter and you'll get it.
