How to Turn off Windows 10 password / pin

The "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option is unchecked in netplwiz, "Require sign-in" option in settings is set to "Never", but I'm still asked to enter my PIN everytime. I live alone and don't need any safety measures. There was a 5 year old topic with exact same problem here, which is locked now, but it was NEVER solved. For me, this problem persists for ~half a year***.***

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Glen. I'm happy to assist you.

I would suggest to follow these steps.

First, go to settings simply press windows key + I.

    • Click account.
    • Click Sign-in Option
    • Under Sign-in Options, Click "Windows Hello Pin"
    • Click Remove.
    • Click Remove again.
    • And Windows Security Pop-up and asking for your Microsoft password.
    • And Click Ok.
    • After that restart your computer to apply changes.

But this time Windows login will asking for your Microsoft account password. And to remove that, follow these step.

    • Press Windows Key + R
    • Type netplwiz
    • Then uncheck Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. Image
    • Click OK.

Then just type in your username/password.

    Restart.

    Hope it will help.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Thank you.

That's no use, after giving the bot a rather long series of "none of above", I waited for an hour, I think, for a live agent, but no luck.

It didn't work. I was asked for a password this morning. I think it's a bug, not just a tricky interface and me not getting it, nothing tricky about unchecking a box, which is still unchecked - I just looked. Also if you google it, many people are experiencing this problem, and it's going way back.

Will see. Before the PIN option was suggested after the last major update, it was the password that I needed to enter logging in, even though it was disabled by the method you wrote. However, it wasn't everyday that I was asked for the password - it seemed to be totally random. Sometimes I could go for a week without the password, sometimes I was asked for it a few days in a row. So it's too soon to tell whether it worked.
