    Hi,

Kayece here. I will be happy to assist you today.

Please perform the following steps below. If the first step does not work, please proceed to the next step. Also, to prevent interfering with the upgrade, try to unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable and disable or uninstall any third-party Antivirus program before starting.

*Restart your device and try again.

    *Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter

Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Next, under Most Frequent, select Windows Update > Run. After applying any fix (if any), restart your device.

    *Restart the Windows Update Service

Press the Win key + R keys simultaneously> Type services. msc > Press OK.

Find the Windows Update on the list, right-click on it, and Click Stop.

Right-click on the Windows Update again and click restart.

Restart the PC or laptop afterward.

*Perform sfc and run the DISM command to check, scan, and restore the health of the system files by following the steps below.

On Command Prompt/powershell (admin), enter each command below:

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    sfc /scannow

After all has been processed, Restart your device

*Here's a direct download link of KB5053656 from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Download and install the update manually.

    https://catalog.sf.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com...

*If none works, please run an In-place upgrade for Windows 11.

Since the KB5053656 update is optional ("Preview" updates are non-security updates), you can turn off preview updates and wait for the March cumulative update, which will be released on the ________ of this month.

To turn off preview updates, click Start, Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Next to "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available", set the toggle to Off.

Get Windows updates as soon as they're available for your device - Microsoft Support:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/get-windows-updates-as-soon-as-they-re-available-for-your-device-cad7b32b-001e-435b-9110-f18309b54168

Also, run "winver.exe" and post the OS build number. Ensure the March 11, 2025—KB5053598 (OS Build 26100.3476) update has been installed.

If you want to install the preview update anyway, please upload your CBS logs to OneDrive and share the link here. To collect the CBS logs, open admin PowerShell and run:

    GCI -Path 'c:\windows\logs\cbs\*.*', 'c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log' | Compress-Archive -destination (join-path ([environment]::GetFolderPath('Desktop')) \CBS.zip)

It saves the CBS and the setup logs to a zip file on your desktop. Share it on OneDrive or GoFile.io and post the link here.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today, my timezone is UTC +8.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to assist, since all the troubleshooting steps didn't work even the manual installing, have you done doing the in-place upgrade? If not, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Go to Windows 11 website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

Under Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) select Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO)

    1. Once done downloading the ISO, kindly right-click on ISO then click Mount> then Click Setup.exe
    2. You may be prompted by User Account Control. Click on Yes if so
    3. In the Install Windows 11 dialog, click Next
    4. Setup will check your PC and show a license agreement. Click on Accept in the license terms dialog.
    5. Wait for the setup program to check for the available free space.
    6. On the Ready to install page, make sure Keep personal files and apps have been checked.
    7. Then click Install and just follow the prompt.
    8. Windows 11 will restart your device several times, and lead you to the lock screen. Depending on the options you set, it will keep all your files, apps, and user accounts.

    For reference: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

    Bernard
