Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hi @owen t
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having difficulty accessing your old Xbox account after moving and losing access to the linked email address and phone number.
If you submit the account recovery form again, please complete it from a device and location that you previously used with the account, if possible. Provide as much accurate information as you can, such as old passwords, your Xbox gamertag, previous account details, and the hardware ID of an Xbox console that you used frequently.
Help with the Microsoft account recovery form
Alternatively, you can try contacting Microsoft Support by following these steps:
- Select Show expanded list of products.
- Choose Outlook > Get Home support.
- Search for Account Recovery, then select Get Help > Contact Support.
- If you cannot access the affected account, sign in with another Microsoft account.
- Under Ask our Support Assistant, type Talk to a live chat agent, then select Contact Support.
- Select Other Products > Manage Account Security > Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
Please note that Microsoft support agents cannot manually reset your password, change the account’s security information, or bypass the ownership verification process. If two-step verification was enabled and you cannot access any verification method, support cannot override this requirement.
Thank you for your understanding.
