Outlook font switches in the middle of an email

I have set the default font for emails to Baskerville 14.

In the middle of composing an email, I see that the font switches to Baskerville 13.

I did not ask for this, and do not like how it makes my emails look (scattered and sloppy).

How do I ensure that all text of emails are one font?

    Hi nw,

I can understand how distracting it is when the font size changes unexpectedly and leaves different parts of the message looking inconsistent.

Since you are using Outlook.com, please first confirm that Baskerville 14 is selected under Settings > Mail > Compose and reply > Message format. You can also select all the text in the affected draft by pressing Ctrl+A, choose Clear formatting, and then apply Baskerville 14 again.

It would also help to check whether the change occurs after you:

    • Paste text from another email, document, or website
    • Insert your email signature
    • Reply to or forward an existing message
    • Press Enter and begin a new paragraph

Pasted content, signatures, and quoted messages may carry their own formatting. As a quick test, please create a completely new message, type the content manually without inserting a signature or pasting anything, and see whether the font still changes. You can also test Outlook.com in an InPrivate or Incognito window to rule out cached browser data or an extension.

Could you let me know which browser you are using and whether this happens in newly composed messages as well as replies?

For reference, Microsoft’s instructions for changing the default font in Outlook.com are available here: Change the default font or text color for email messages in Outlook

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.
