The system stops at the Window Recovery screen with:

”Your PC/Device needs to be repaired”

”An unexpected error has occurred.”

Error code: 0xc0430001

HP laptop, Windows 11, x64

Tried different recovery options from Recovery menu - unsuccessful. I have access to cmd from there, but not sure what I should do.

It would be great not to reset all the data on this device.

Thanks in advance!

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Error 0xc0430001 often occurs during a secure boot rollout or after a recent Windows update.

Do you happen to know if Windows installed any updates?

Please perform this procedure:

(Note: If BitLocker is enabled on your device, make sure you have access to your Microsoft Account to retrieve your recovery key if prompted)

  1. Turn off your laptop by holding down the power button;
  2. Turn it back on and immediately start pressing F10 to open your BIOS/UEFI settings;
  3. Navigate to "System Configuration > Boot Options" (or Security);
  4. Change Secure Boot to "Disabled";
  5. Press F10 to Save and Exit, then check if Windows boots properly.

If the system boots correctly, please share a screenshot of your system information.

  • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Looking forward to your reply.
