Microsoft Bookings and British Columbia’s New Pacific Time (PCT/UTC−7)

Hello,

Our business is located in Greater Victoria, British Columbia. B.C. has adopted year-round Pacific time (PCT/UTC−7), meaning clocks will not move back on November 1, 2026.

We are currently testing appointments in Microsoft Bookings. Appointments scheduled before November 1 appear correctly. However, for appointments after November 1, the time looks correct in our business calendar, but clients see a different time when the appointment is added to their calendar—a one-hour discrepancy.

Our Microsoft Bookings time zone is currently set to (UTC−08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada).

Could Microsoft please clarify:

  1. Will a new British Columbia/Pacific Time (PCT/UTC−7) option be added to Microsoft Bookings?
  2. Will the existing Pacific Time setting be updated automatically for British Columbia?
  3. What time-zone settings should B.C. businesses use in Microsoft Bookings and Outlook to prevent this one-hour discrepancy for appointments after November 1?

We want to correct this before clients begin booking appointments after November 1.

Thank you for your guidance.

    Hi Adrian,

    I hope you’ve been well.

Based on your description, the one-hour discrepancy may occur because the current (UTC−08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) setting still follows the seasonal time change, while most of British Columbia will remain at UTC−7 after November 1, 2026.

Since this is a user-to-user support forum, I’m unable to confirm whether Microsoft will add a new British Columbia time-zone option or automatically update the existing Pacific Time setting.

In the meantime, I recommend checking that the time-zone settings are consistent in both locations:

    1. In Outlook on the web, go to Settings > Calendar > View > Time zones.
    2. In Microsoft Bookings, go to Booking page > Region and time zone settings.
    3. Check whether a new British Columbia-specific time-zone option becomes available and select it in both locations if applicable.
    4. Continue testing appointments scheduled after November 1, 2026, including how they appear in the confirmation email and the client’s calendar.

I would not recommend manually adjusting appointment times by one hour or selecting an unrelated UTC−7 time zone as a permanent workaround, as this could cause additional discrepancies after the time-zone data is updated.

For official confirmation regarding the planned Bookings support and the recommended time-zone configuration, or for further investigation into the one-hour discrepancy, your Microsoft 365 administrator can open a support request with Microsoft Support through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & support. When contacting support, it would be helpful to include screenshots showing the appointment time in Bookings, the business calendar, and the client’s calendar.

I hope this helps move the case forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.
