Did your printer come with a disk that should have extra apps to use with it.

I have the Epson XP-7100 and the image below shows Epson Scan 2 that came on my disk. I installed all the apps shown from my disk that came with the printer.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

To enable the scanning functionality for your Epson ET-2800 on Windows 11, you will need to install the full driver and software package from the manufacturer.

Please download and install the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer directly from the official Epson support website:

    https://epson.com/Support/Printers/All-In-Ones/ET-Series/Epson-ET-2800/s/SPT_C11CJ66202?review-filter=Windows+11

Once the download is complete, double-click the file to run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. This process will install the necessary utility, which allows you to utilize the scanner features both from your computer and via the physical controls on your printer.

Try this in order on Windows 11:

    1. Remove and re-add the device.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the EPSON ET-2800 and choose Remove.
      • Then select Add device next to Add a printer or scanner and follow the prompts.
      • This can re-register the scanner portion of a multifunction device.
    2. If it’s connected by USB, disconnect and reconnect it.
      • After removing the device in Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, unplug the USB cable.
      • Reconnect the USB device to the PC.
      • In some cases, Windows recognizes the scanner again after reconnecting.
    3. If Windows still doesn’t detect scanning, reinstall the printer/scanner.
      • In Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, check whether the device appears.
      • If it doesn’t, use Add device to install it again.
      • If it appears but still doesn’t work, remove it and reinstall it again.
    4. Install the latest driver and software from the manufacturer.
      • Most printers need the latest driver to work well.
      • If the device installs but scanning still fails, install the latest printer/scanner driver package from the manufacturer.
    5. Restart the Windows Image Acquisition service if scanner apps can’t find the scanner.
      • This is a known workaround when Windows doesn’t find a newly connected scanning device.
      • Open Services, stop Windows Image Acquisition (WIA), then start it again.
      • If needed, restart the PC while the scanner is connected.
    6. Test whether the scanner is available in another scanning app.
      • Open a Windows scanning app and check whether the EPSON scanner appears.
      • If the scanner works in one app but not another, the issue is with the app rather than device detection.

If the scanner stopped working after a reset or update, a full uninstall, restart, and reinstall of the manufacturer’s drivers and software is the recommended path.
