In my attempt to install my scanner, I inadvertently deleted my printer. I need the printer and scanner added back in.

This is the full driver package you need from HP, which includes both printer and scanner driver.

Here are the installation instructions from that page

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until prompted by the installer. If you are connecting to a network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer

    • Close any software programs running on your computer.
    • Turn on the printer.
    • Click on the Download button on this page.
    • Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically start.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with and complete the installation.

To install at a later date, select Save on step 4 and select a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, locate and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation.

Note: This is not Microsoft website/URL, but it is the official OEM/manufacturer site.

To add the HP printer/scanner back in on Windows 11, remove any leftover printer entry first, then reinstall it so Windows can detect both functions again.

    1. Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
    2. If the HP device still appears, select it, choose Remove, and confirm with Yes.
    3. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected:
      • USB: connect the USB cable directly to the PC.
      • Wireless: make sure the PC is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
    4. In Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, next to Add a printer or scanner, select Add device.
    5. Wait while Windows searches. If the HP printer appears, select Add device.
    6. After reinstalling, use Windows Update to obtain the latest updated printer drivers.
    7. If the printer came with HP software or a disc, that can also be used, but the preferred method is to get the latest software and drivers from the printer manufacturer.

If Windows does not find the printer automatically, use Add manually from the same Printers & scanners page.

If the scanner still does not appear after the printer is re-added, removing and re-adding the device can help Windows re-register the scanner portion of the device.
