I am trying to update my payment plan, you say “the bank refuses my card” my bank says “they are not refusing my card, it is available for any transaction” The problem is on your end, my subscription has expired for the ultimate word games premium edition and no matter what I do YOU keep refusing to accept it. Can you help me?

This is a public forum, so for your privacy and security, we can’t help with billing issues here. Also, no one in this forum has access to your account or payment information.

To get help, open the "Get Help" app on your computer (just search for it in the Start menu). or go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.

If the card is being declined even though the bank says it is available, use these checks and update steps:

    1. Go to Services & subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription: https://account.microsoft.com/services.
    2. Find the expired subscription and select Pay now if it shows as past due.
    3. Check the payment method on the account:
      • Make sure the card number, expiration date, name on the card, and billing address match exactly what appears on the card and statement.
      • Make sure the payment method is from the same country/region as the Microsoft account or tenant.
    4. If the current card is old or expired, add a new payment method or update the expiration details if that is all that changed.
    5. If Microsoft shows a payment method error, go to Payment options and update that payment method, then try the purchase again.
    6. If the subscription is already expired or suspended because of payment failure, renew it after the payment method is corrected.

Important limits called out in the guidance:

    • For Microsoft subscriptions, if there is a past-due balance, that can block removing a payment option until the balance is paid.
    • For prepaid subscriptions, the payment method cannot be changed until the prepaid term expires.
    • Some banks require extra identity verification for fraud protection, so bank, card, and Microsoft account contact details should be current.

If the card still fails after the details exactly match and the payment method is current, use Contact Support for billing help from the Microsoft support flow.
