    Hello,

    1. May I please know the default download location where the files are being saved?
    2. Could you please confirm whether all files and folders are missing from the Downloads folder, or if you mean that the files you recently downloaded through your web browser are missing?

Please also note that the Downloads folder does not normally sync with OneDrive, so files saved there are stored locally on the device.

Since this isn't a OneDrive sync folder and the files are missing, check the desktop Recycle Bin and see whether you can restore them there. However, if you downloaded the files to a OneDrive sync folder, such as Documents or Pictures, those files were backed up to OneDrive.

Sign in to OneDrive online with your Microsoft account to check whether the files can be recovered.

Also, check the OneDrive Recycle Bin to see if the files ended up there.

Try these steps in order for a personal OneDrive account:

    1. Go to the OneDrive website and sign in: https://www.onedrive.com
      • Use Search everything at the top.
      • Search by filename, partial name, file type, date, or description.
      • Files in Personal Vault do not appear in search results.
    2. Check the Recycle bin on the left side of the OneDrive website.
      • If the files are there, select them and choose Restore.
      • If the missing files were in Personal Vault, unlock it first by selecting Show Personal Vault items in the recycle bin.
    3. Check whether the files were saved under a different Microsoft account.
      • Sign out of OneDrive and sign in again with any other Microsoft account that may have been used.
    4. If using Microsoft 365, try Restore your OneDrive to roll back the entire OneDrive to an earlier point within the last 30 days.
      • Open the restore options here: Restore your OneDrive
      • Warning: files and folders created after the restore point will be moved to the OneDrive Recycle Bin.
    5. Check the local device.
      • Use File Explorer to search the PC for the files.
      • Check the PC Recycle Bin.
    6. If the files still cannot be found:
      • For personal accounts, use Contact Microsoft Support.
      • In the OneDrive mobile app, support can also be contacted by opening the app and gently shaking the device.

If files are not found in search or in the OneDrive Recycle Bin, they usually cannot be retrieved.
