I've been invited to use a Microsoft 365 Family subscription but when I click on link it says looks like this invitation is invalid.

    Hi ,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out.

In addition to the AI answer, please ask the subscription owner to sign in to the Microsoft 365 sharing page using the account that purchased the subscription > Confirm that Microsoft 365 Family is active and that at least one of the five sharing slots is available > Cancel any pending invitation for your account > Return to the sharing page and create a new invitation.

If the subscription recently expired or was renewed, the owner should stop sharing with your account and then share it again.

An invalid Microsoft 365 Family invitation link usually means the invite was not accepted within 48 hours, or the account cannot join the family group yet.

    Try this:

    1. Ask the subscription owner to send a new invitation.
      • Invitation links must be accepted within 48 hours.
      • While the invite is active, the owner will see Pending invite in the Microsoft 365 subscriptions dashboard.
    2. Open the new invitation in a different browser or an incognito/private window.
      • This can help if the current browser session is using the wrong Microsoft account or has a cached sign-in issue.
    3. Make sure the correct Microsoft account is used when accepting the invite.
      • The invited account must sign in with the account that was invited.
    4. Check whether the invited account is already in another Microsoft family group.
      • If it is, that account must leave the other family group first.
      • Sharing only works after joining the subscription owner’s family group.
    5. If email invite keeps failing, ask the owner to share by link instead.
      • The owner can go to the Microsoft 365 sharing page, select Share, then Create link, and send that copied link.
    6. If the invitation email was expected but not received, check Junk mail for a message with Microsoft 365 in the subject, and confirm the owner used the preferred email address.

If the problem continues after a new invite and browser test, use Microsoft support through Contact Support.
