As a private user of MS's Office Suite for creating and recording purposes only with no need for electronic connections to the outside, my current subscription is overwhelming me and totally unnecessary compared to what I need and get out of it. I understand you have different, simpler and less expensive plans in addition to the one you ask me to renew. When I first started using MS Office on my computer (initially PC, then Apple) it was a matter of just running the software to my needs. Now I am having so much additional weight coming at me with the suite that I do not use, and I don't want to pay for something I have no use for.

I need to explore plan subscription options with a real person not by combing through hundreds of Q&A options.

Please provide me with a real contact number / person (not A.I.) to discuss this.

All the subscription based Microsoft 365 (Office plans contain the same set of apps, and link with OneDrive online to store your Files.

The only differences are.

Personal: for one person only and you can install Office aon up to 5 devices at the same time.

Family: this version can be shared with up to 5 other family members.

Premium: this is the same as the Family version, but has more access to the Copilot Ai functionality.

If you do not need everything that comes with a Microsoft 365 subscription based version of Office, there are a couple of versions of Office 2024 available.

They contain a sub-set of the Office apps, this is a one-time payment version of Office (no subscription necessary) that does not automatically store your documents on the Cloud (OneDrive).

For a private/home Microsoft 365 subscription, the supported path to reach a human is through Microsoft Support contact flow.

Open Contact Microsoft customer support.
Select Get Help on the web.
Describe the issue as Microsoft 365 subscription or plan options.
Choose Contact Support.
Under Products and services, select Microsoft 365 and Office.
Under Category, select Manage account subscription.
Select Confirm.
Choose Chat with a support agent on your web browser.

If phone assistance is preferred, the support flow can offer a callback option instead of waiting on hold.

For comparing simpler options before the conversation:

Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Premium, and Pro can be installed on Mac or PC.
Office 2024 is a one-time purchase for one computer and does not include subscription benefits or new feature upgrades.
Microsoft 365 subscriptions include ongoing support via callback and chat.

For Mac use specifically, Microsoft states that most apps for Microsoft 365 Family, Personal, or Premium subscriptions, as well as Office 2021 apps, can be installed on either Mac or PC.
