If you want to upgrade Windows 11 Home to Pro, you may head over to Settings app > System > Activation > Upgrade in Microsoft store. This upgrade costs around 100 USD.

    Hi Andy,

What exact build are you on currently?
Use WIN+R, type winver and OK for the

    build #.

Is an update failing? We really need more

details before giving you exact instructions.

To upgrade to Windows 11 Home on a compatible PC:

    1. Open Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. Select Check for updates.
    3. If Windows 11 is ready for the device, a message appears saying Windows 11 is ready.
    4. Select Download and install.

    Important details:

    • Install any current Windows updates first. The Windows 11 upgrade might not appear until those updates are installed and the device is restarted.
    • The upgrade usually takes longer than a normal Windows 10 feature update.
    • The PC can still be used while Windows 11 downloads, and installation can be scheduled for a later time.

If Windows Update does not offer Windows 11:

    • Confirm the PC meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11.
    • If the PC is eligible, Windows 11 Home can also be purchased and downloaded as a full version.
    • If upgrading from Windows 10 Home in S mode, the upgrade goes to Windows 11 Home in S mode.

If Windows 11 Home is already licensed digitally but the wrong edition is installed:

    • If Windows 11 Pro is installed but the digital license is for Windows 11 Home, install Windows 11 Home using the media creation tool. During setup, the product key step can be skipped, and Windows activates automatically after installation.

Note: installing Windows 11 as a full version or clean installation can overwrite the contents of the hard drive and requires reinstalling apps and moving files, data, and settings.
