    Hello,

If nothing works on the Sign-in screen, boot your PC into the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and run Startup Repair or System Restore to see if you can sign in.

To boot your PC into the WinRE:

    1. Turn on your Computer. When you see your PC Manufacturer's logo or the Windows Logo, turn off your computer by holding down the power button.
    2. Repeat the same steps 2-3 times.
    3. Next time, allow your PC to boot fully into WinRE.

From WinRE, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.

If Startup Repair did not fix the problem, you can try System Restore to revert your PC to an earlier point in time.

Let me know if you still need more help.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Reset the graphics driver
      • Press Windows logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B.
      • If it works, the screen may flicker or beep.
    2. Try display/security shortcuts
      • Press Windows logo key + P to cycle display modes.
      • Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to try to bring up the security screen.
    3. Force a full shutdown
      • Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
      • If the PC still appears stuck, disconnect all external peripherals first, then hold the power button for about 30 seconds until it fully shuts off.
      • Wait a few minutes, then power it back on.
    4. If Windows starts, check for the likely causes
      • Open Device Manager by right-clicking Start.
      • Look for any device with an exclamation mark (!).
      • Right-click it and select Update driver. If that does not help, try Disable device or Uninstall device.
      • Then go to Start > Settings > Windows Update and install the latest updates.
      • Also make sure the system drive has about 10% to 15% free space.
    5. If the screen stays black/blank or keeps looping
      • Start the PC in safe mode and continue troubleshooting from there.
      • If the system still will not start, use Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) recovery options.
      • If BitLocker is enabled, the BitLocker recovery key is required for most WinRE recovery options.
    6. If this started after a driver or system issue and Safe Mode works
      • A System Restore or another Recovery option may help return Windows to a working state.

A forced shutdown can interrupt unsaved work, but it is appropriate here because normal restart and sign-in controls are not responding.
