A fully managed end-to-end service for digitally signing code, documents, and applications. (formerly Trusted Signing)
For this scenario, avoid creating duplicate in-progress requests. Duplicate identity validation requests for the same entity do not help, and in-progress requests cannot be expedited.
Use this path:
- In the Azure portal, open the Artifact Signing account and go to Objects > Identity validations.
- Check the current request status:
- Completed means the validation finished successfully.
- Action Required means the request still expects a step to be completed from the portal link.
- Failed means the current request cannot be resumed.
- If the first attempt is stuck or failed after the Authenticator/Verified ID flow, use the documented reset steps for individual validation errors:
- Delete the existing identity validation request.
- Remove the associated Verified ID from the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Submit a new individual identity validation request.
- When creating the new request, make sure the Primary Email entered in the request is the same email used to sign in when opening the identity validation link. If they differ, the flow can fail with a permissions error.
- During the new attempt, if the status changes to Action Required, open the link from the request and complete the Verified ID flow again. After successful completion, the browser should show Verification Successful, and the Azure portal status should update to Completed after a few minutes.
- If technical errors continue during the Authenticator/Verified ID flow, use these troubleshooting steps before retrying:
- Close all open instances of Microsoft Authenticator and relaunch it.
- Update Microsoft Authenticator to the latest version.
- Clear browser cache or try a different browser.
- Avoid weak Wi‑Fi, VPN, or proxy connections.
- Try a different phone if possible.
- Since AU10TIX has already been contacted and the issue remains unresolved, use Azure Support or Microsoft Q&A with the artifact-signing tag for Artifact Signing identity validation assistance.
There is no documented way to reissue or manually link a missing Verified ID to an existing individual validation request. If the Verified ID was not added correctly and the request cannot proceed, the supported recovery path is to delete the existing request, remove the associated Verified ID from Authenticator, and start a new request.
