Azure practice with out going broke

Hi

We use Azure security technologies at work.

I'm not given any training but expected to operate as a security analyst using these technologies.

I'm used to the traditional environment windows 10 & server 2008 sorta thing.

Normally in the past for windows servers I would simply get a cheap product key and build out a lab.

I could then teach myself and experiment.

The full Azure E5 security solution looks to be too expensive for me.

Is there a way to build out a lab that simulates a company environment without crippling my self financially ?

I looking to build a dev/lab environment.

Otherwise it looks like learning this is inaccessible to poor people. Trying to memorize gui locations is not realistic. Labs & Dev environments are crucial.

Thanks

    Hi @Synthetic-Sentience ,

there is an option to create a Azure Free Account: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/
You should check for a free trial M365 or EMS E5 option. This should be available as well.
Even if these trial/free options are limited they might help to get started.

My work environment is hybrid. I'm looking to simulate that also.
    Assume that can be done.

Ball park. What would we estimate setting up a hybrid Security E5 environment lab would cost per month ?

I wouldn't be running many VM's just a few test VM's. with maybe 5 user accounts representing 5 different departments.

Suppose would need AD connect server & need to setup e.g. Defender for endpoints, MCAS, MFA, SSPR & all security technologies.

Looking to see if this is feasible before undertaking project.

    Thanks
