How do I remove an old Microsoft account that I can no longer access. I tried the recovery form but do not have enough information to successfully complete. The account was created using my company email address as the username and it is now causing issues with SSO authentication with other apps

    Hi Bill,

If this is an old personal Microsoft account created using your company email address, Microsoft requires you to be able to sign in before you can close the account.

Since the recovery form hasn't been successful, try Microsoft's Sign-in Helper first. It checks the account and directs you to the available recovery or support options.

Microsoft Support also states that support agents cannot manually reset passwords or change account details to bypass the account verification process.

    Official references:

Because you're also experiencing SSO problems with applications using your company identity, I would involve your organisation's IT/identity administrator as well so they can investigate that side separately.

Hope this helps you, all the best.

    David S
