I am attempting to sign in to my personal Azure subscription, but I am getting this error when trying to sign in to the Azure portal.

This account is a personal account that shouldn't be associated with a work or school account. I have checked in my account view and there isn't any organization info available there. I've tried a private window, with the same result.

The flow here looks like:

  1. https://portal.azure.com
  2. Sign in with my personal account
  3. Error "More information required. Your organization needs more information to keep your account secure. Before making changes to your security info you must complete multifactor authentication."
  4. "You cannot access this right now" error

It certainly looks like my personal account is somehow connected to an organizational account, but I don't know which one or how to remove that.

I use the Authenticator app for 2FA when signing in.

I could use help finding out how my personal account has been added to an organization and how to remove that link.

Thanks for confirming that you can log into your personal account.
You will find emails that will provide you with your tenant id. (The GUID)

You have mentioned thsat this is your personal Account Subscription. That would make you the Owner/Billing Admin.
With that in mind, you can log a ticket via https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/create-ticket

As a user of personal subscriptions, I would recommend that you setup 3 accounts with reltively secure alternate access to your tenant.

If this works for you, please Mark is as an Accepted/Resolved, so that it can aid others as well

If some part has worked, please add additional notes, so that I(Community) can provide additional support based on additional information.

There are a variety of possible reasons here from an Azure tenant perspective.

    1. Make sure that you are using only portal.azure.com. Sometimes it can get redirected to a different URL which may be associated with a different tenant and hence issues.
    2. Conditional access - If you have set this up, you would know it, but this is another possible reason.

You have mentioned that you are unable to sign into myaccount.microsoft.com. I am also unable to sign into that with my personal account.

For personal accounts you need to use account.microsoft.com

If that works, then your personal account is fine. If it doesn't, then you will need to first recover your personal account before proceeding.
If you are able to log into your personal account, then your next best option is to find the email from Microsoft for your Azure Subscription and use the Support Link to contact Microsoft.
