If the purchase appears in Microsoft order history, the license is attached to that Microsoft account. When Minecraft shows Buy again, it usually means the launcher or Store is not detecting the license correctly.
Try this in order:
- Confirm the purchase is in Order history and shows as completed.
- Make sure the same Microsoft account is signed in to both:
- Microsoft Store
- Minecraft Launcher
- Sign out of both apps, restart the PC, then sign back in. Sign in to Microsoft Store first, then open Minecraft Launcher.
- In Microsoft Store, search for Minecraft and check whether it shows Owned or Install instead of Buy.
- Verify the correct edition is being opened. The purchase shown is Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC, so the launcher needs to detect that entitlement.
- If Store installation is not working correctly, reset Microsoft Store:
- Press Windows key + R
- Enter
wsreset.exe - Select OK
- Wait for the blank command window to close and for Microsoft Store to reopen automatically
- If the PC was recently updated, restart it before trying the install again.
- If the app still does not appear correctly, check these common causes:
- the app is unavailable in the current country or region
- the app is incompatible with the device
- the PC is not authorized for Microsoft Store apps
If it still shows Buy after those steps, the issue is likely a license sync problem and Minecraft Support needs to verify the entitlement.
