Moved from US to UK

Hi,

I have moved from the US where I originally setup my microsoft account to the UK. I have managed to change my country and address BUT it does not let me change my subscription and payment details even when I've cancelled all payment cards on my account. I wish to continue my subscription from my UK bank account and be charged in GBP not USD. Can someone help, I've tried a number of things. Nothing is working. I have now cancelled my reoccurring subscription which is not what I want to do but is forcing me as there is no other option.

Thanks,

EG

Microsoft 365 subscriptions are tied to the country/region where they were originally purchased. Because the subscription was bought in the US, the payment method for that active subscription cannot be switched to a UK bank account and billed in GBP.

    What to do next:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services
    2. Confirm where the subscription is managed:
      • If Manage, Cancel, or Change payment appears, it is billed by Microsoft.
      • If those options are missing or limited, it is managed by a third party and billing changes must be made with that provider.
    3. Since recurring billing is already turned off, let the current US subscription expire, or cancel it if needed.
    4. After the subscription is no longer active, make sure the Microsoft account profile country/region is set to the UK and the billing address is updated.
    5. Then purchase a new Microsoft 365 subscription using the UK payment method so billing is in GBP.

    Important details:

    • Changing the billing address only applies to new purchases. An existing active subscription continues to use the original country/region setup.
    • If Microsoft 365 was purchased in a different region, a new subscription for the new region cannot be purchased until the existing subscription is gone.
    • If the subscription is prepaid, the payment method cannot be changed during that prepaid term.
    • If the subscription was bought through Apple, Google, Amazon, or another retailer, Microsoft cannot change, cancel, refund, or update billing for it; that must be done with the original provider.

If the account still blocks the new-region purchase after the old subscription has ended, use Contact Support from Microsoft Support.
