Do not recognize account associated with Office 2019 product key

Trying to reinstall Office 2019 from a product key card i have in my possession from initial install in 2021. when i put in the product key it displays an account name email that i do not recognize. the listed date of the install listed is correct, but the email is not one i have used. how can i get the account name corrected to the one i use so i can download the software?

Is it possible that you got assistance in a computer shop with setting up the account and installing Office back in 2021? And could the store staff have used an account (e-mail) that doesn't belong to you? If that is the case, getting back the license now may be difficult, unfortunately. Is there a chance that you have documentation from the purchase which may help you?

I have the original receipt from STAPLES in a folder with the physical product key card. Installed it myself. sadly, do not remotely recognize the email that microsoft says is associated with the key. maybe sharing the receipt and product key card will allow someone at microsoft to fix this.

To regain access to a personal account, Microsoft offers automated processes only. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/manage/help-with-the-microsoft-account-recovery-form. It might be worth testing, although chances of account recovery seem limited in this case.

Tried the tool, but it requires a full email address, however, the microsoft website i used to try and download from only provides a partial email address. without a full email address i can't use the tool. my only hope is to be able to share the physical receipts with someone. i do not recognize the partial email and believe the email associated with my Office 2019 is an error.

Thanks for the follow-up. This definitely sounds like a difficult situation. Is there a chance you could ask the shop and see if they have any records remaining? After several years, that is a bit of a long shot, of course.
