I have not been able to receive any of my emails. I changed my email password and still not able to receive emails. There was a suspicious activity email that is suspicious but it said it got cleared and I think it is incorrect because it was not me. Please help

    Hi Christine B

If senders are not receiving any bounce/NDR messages, check your Junk Email, Deleted Items, and Archive folders, and use Outlook.com's search to look for a recently sent message. Also verify that your account's Rules, Forwarding, and any block/safe sender lists have not been changed unexpectedly after the suspicious activity.

    If possible, let us know:

    • Can you send email successfully?
    • Can you receive email from a different email account you control (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)?
    • Do senders receive any delivery failure message?

Feel free to update here if anything comes up!

Can you send emails to other people?

If you send an email to yourself - Does it show up in your Sent Items folder? But it never arrives in your Inbox?

Do you still have that email? Can you post a screen shot of it? (Be sure to redact part of your full email address if it is shown).

Since the password was already changed and there was suspicious sign-in activity, focus on both account security and mailbox settings:

    1. Review recent sign-in activity.
      • Go to the Security basics page.
      • Select Review activity.
      • If the activity is not recognized, select This wasn't me for unusual activity, or Secure your account for recent activity.
    2. Change the password again if the account may still be exposed.
      • On the same Security basics page, select Change password.
      • Use a strong new password.
    3. Check whether the account is temporarily blocked due to unusual sign-in activity.
      • Outlook.com accounts can be temporarily blocked after suspicious activity.
      • Use the Sign-in Helper to unblock the account if needed.
    4. Check mailbox storage.
      • If Microsoft cloud storage or the mailbox is full, Outlook.com cannot send or receive email.
      • Messages sent while storage was full can bounce back to the sender and are unrecoverable.
    5. Check for hidden mailbox changes often left behind after an account compromise.
      • In Outlook on the web, review Mail > Rules and remove any rule that was not created intentionally, especially rules that delete, move, or forward mail.
      • Also check Mail > Forwarding and make sure forwarding is turned off unless it is expected.
    6. If email still does not arrive after those checks, use Outlook.com support from the Help menu or the Outlook.com Community.
