Dear Community - ok so Office 360 is being charged to my credit card. No issues and fine. When I logon using my current MS logon ID's and then view my credit card purchase history - I see an obfuscated Microsoft ID that was used to purchase the 360 subscription few days back. The issue is I have no idea what this obfuscated ID actually is! and I'm failing via the recovery form. Any ideas on how I can reveal what this obfuscated MS ID actually is so I can log back out, use old, obfuscated MS ID and reset the password? Thank you in advance!

    Hi, Tom Pickard

The masked ID is only a hint. There isn’t a button on the purchase page that reveals the full email address. The recovery form is also hard to use until you know which account you’re trying to recover.

If Office is still installed on a computer where you used the subscription, open Word or Excel and check File > Account > Belongs to. That may show the full account address. Also search your email accounts for the Microsoft 365 purchase receipt, and check Settings > Accounts > Email & app accounts on a Windows PC you used with Office.

If those don’t turn it up, use the forgotten-username lookup with any phone number or backup email you may have added to the old account. It may still show only a masked hint, but that can help you match it to an address you recognize. Once you identify the full address, try Forgot password for that account.

If you still can’t identify it, contact Microsoft Support about the charge. Have the date, amount, and card’s last four digits ready, but don’t post them here. Support can help investigate billing, though they can’t disclose account details or reset the password for you.
