Cant' receive new mails

My @hotmail.com mailbox receives no mail at all. A message sent from the account to itself never arrives in the inbox, and my forwarding to Gmail never fires, so nothing is being delivered to the mailbox. Sending works: a copy sent to Gmail arrived. External senders (Gmail) also get no delivery and no bounce. Storage is fine, there is no account block or security alert, and rules and forwarding are reviewed. This looks like a mailbox-level delivery or provisioning fault. Any help ?

    Hello Danilo Santos,

Since sending works but nothing arrives, including messages sent to the same address, this may be an incoming-delivery or mailbox configuration issue.

Check the Inbox, Other, Junk Email, Archive, and Deleted Items folders. If neither test appears anywhere in Outlook.com, this strongly suggests that the problem is affecting delivery to the mailbox rather than only a mail app or device.

You can also verify that the Hotmail address is still correctly linked to the Microsoft account. Select your profile picture, then go to My Microsoft account > Your info > Sign-in preferences or Edit account info. Confirm that the @hotmail.com address is listed and note whether it is the primary or a secondary alias.

If another email alias is already linked to the same Microsoft account, send a test message to that address as well.

    • If the message arrives through the other alias, but not through the Hotmail address, the issue may be limited to the Hotmail address.
    • If messages sent to both addresses are missing, the issue may affect the mailbox itself rather than one specific address.

If another alias is already attached to the same Microsoft account, send a test message to that alias. If the other alias receives mail but the Hotmail address does not, this would suggest the issue is limited to the Hotmail address. If neither alias receives mail, the problem may affect the mailbox more generally.

If the address is listed correctly and no alias receives mail, please contact Microsoft Support for Outlook and ask them to check whether incoming delivery is restricted or whether the mailbox has a provisioning issue.

Since this is a user-to-user forum, we cannot access your mailbox or check its delivery status. We can only suggest troubleshooting steps based on the information provided and our own observation.

    Tips:

    • Support chat availability may vary by country/region, product, and support hours. If you can't get in touch with a chat agent right away, trying again later or at a different time may help.
    • If the support page directs you to the automated assistant, type “I need a live agent” in the chat.

Hopefully your issue will be sorted out soon. Thank you so much for your patience!
