I have a macbook pro 2013. I am now not able to use office on it. I cant upgrade the op system past 11.7.11. office 365 does not work on it, i have a 365 account already and wont work. I saw that office 2019 can still work so i purchased an office 2019 key to use on the computer. That will not work either because it uses 365 in the installer. I cant use online browser as i need to be able to work off line. i need help resolving this issue.

If your version of MacOS is Big Sur (11.7.11) then the error you are seeing is caused by an update on the 13th of July, many people are seeing the exact same error, if you are unable to upgrade your MacOS to a newer compatible version, your Office apps will go into Read Only mode, on the link below they provide full details on that update, also, on that link, it is indicated Office 2019 will no longer work on any version of MacOS because it is no longer possible to update the security certificates on Office 2019.
