symstore erroring out with error code 122.

Running the command give variety of error outputs such as :

SYMSTORE ERROR: Class: Internal. Desc: Unable to create full path name for "...."

The pathlength for the folder exceeds 260 characters. Which might be the reason symstore is throwing error message but what does error code 122 mean and what should be done to run symstore successfully?

Could someone validate that my assumption of error code 122 being thrown due to longer than 260 path length is correct?

PS: Please ignore the tag, I did not find symstore tag for the question

System error code 122 is ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER (The data area passed to a system call is too small.) System error codes can be found at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/debug/system-error-codes.

how should I resolve this error?

Try using a file system location where the path length does not exceed 260 characters if only to confirm your speculation about path lengths.

I'm not a symstore user so I can only guess at workarounds.

Maybe you can use a symlink or even subst to use a drive letter as a means of shortening the path. I have no idea if any of these is a viable solution.
