Server Down after Windows Update Reboot

Updated our Server 2016 essentials today and rebooted when it came back to the log in screen there is an X through the network icon on the bottom right and now cannot login. States there is no logon controller available. I have checked the BIOS and the Dell nic configuration says the link is connected. Any help on this? We are dead in the water right now. I have never seen this happen. Any suggestions other than a restore?

Might try DSRM logon to see what might have happened.

I was able to get in with Safe Mode (networking) but when i go tot the Nic properties it si totally blank. I tried bringing up the update and recovery window to try and roll back but it shuts down after opening. Was hoping to uninstall an update that caused this terrible error. I can ping the server from workstations but thats it. No file brwosing or services seem to be running after it boots to the login screen. Not sure what to do.

You can try but it sounds more like some driver corruption or hardware failure. Might try putting in an add on NIC

Even though the NIC works in Safe mode? Bios reads the Nic is correctly connected.

Nic properties it si totally blank.

This didn't sound like working, but either case if you're now saying it works, try booting normal again. If problem persists then you might try downloading the latest ROM bios, firmware, chipset and driver support packs for the server.
