Greetings!
I was referred to here by another post.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/how-to-relocate-the-nst-file-generated-by-outlook/481fcafa-4981-4c44-87ec-dc2f12f4e52e

Greetings!

I recently got a free 365 account provided by the alumni association of my university.

I added the email account into Outlook, and I found that there is a .nst file generated for it.

Since I have a small SSD drive as C:, I want to relocate all the outlook data file to my HDD data drive.

I already have the ForceOSTPath and ForcePSTPath key in the registry. I tried to add a ForceNSTPath and ForceGSTPath in the registry, but no luck.

Everytime I delete the .nst file and re-open Outlook, the new .ost file is in the ForceOSTPath, but the .nst file is still re-generated in the Outlook folder in C:.

How can I relocate the .nst file to the desired folder in HDD data drive?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @S S ,

    Welcome to our forum!

According to your description, I have searched the relevant registry and I didn't find any settings to change the location of the NST file by registry or group policy. And I have done a lot of research and test, unfortunately I didn't find any useful suggestion to relocate the NST file.

As I know, the NST file is created when you access a Group in Outlook the first time, and stores your Groups conversations and other local Groups data. It is not recommended that you change the path of this file to avoid unexpected trouble.
