What is the purpose of adding Office365 Enterprise Mobility/Security E3, when you can add on F1 instead?

For example, if you have Office365 E1, and you want to add the features of Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 for $8.80, why would you do so when Microsoft allows you to add F1 for $2.25, when F1 has all the same exact features?

Yes, Microsoft allows you to add E1 & F1 to the same user and combine the features.

Am I missing something? Why would someone add Enterprise Mobility/Security E3 to their E1 package, when they can get the exact same feature set in F1 for much less the price?

E1 gives you your mailbox and basic functionality, F1 gives you Intune, Autopilot, Security Features.

@WWW Thanks for posting in our Q&A. For this issue, it is not related to windows 365. It is related to Microsoft license. I just share some information that I know.

I have compared these three licenses. I find that if we only use Microsoft 365 F1 license, it is have more limitation in Microsoft 365 apps. We can refer to the following link's "Full comparison" to get more information:

However, if the F1 license is enough in your environment, of course you can just choose it. The license you choose depends on your requirements.

If you want more accurate help about choosing licenses, it is suggested to contact more professional engineers to give ideas. Here is the support link:

Thanks for understanding and have a nice day. : )
