Adding users from tree domain into enterprise

Hi everyone!

I’ve been stuck on this for a while now so I thought I would ask here. I have a root domain (A) and a tree domain (B). Within the tree domain, I am trying to make a child domain for it but it says invalid credentials. How can I give domain B administrator or any user in domain B access to enterprise administrators? I can see the name of domain B when I go to add users into enterprise but the drop down list does not show anything.

Thanks!

    Hello @Ruby Smith ,

Thank you for your question and reaching out. My name is Prakash and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

    1. Please try on the machine itself when you try to join it rather than RDP.
    2. Make sure you have joined the server to the domain as a domain member and rebooted before trying to promote it to a Domain Controller.
    3. You have to use an account which is part of the Domain Admin group to join a client to your domain. Also make sure the DNS settings on the client are correct.
    4. Please verity date and time are in sync .
    5. Disable IPv6 from both servers
    6. Check Existing Domain/Forest functional level on 2012 server. minimum level is 2008 support by 2016.
