Deleting(Running) VM of a VM Scale Set freezes any deatach operations on the attached disks

Question

We have noticed an issue with the VMs in the VMSS.

When we delete the VMs with termination window of 15', it is impossible to detach disk from that VM.
Is that by design? Is there any way to circumvent this?

We have to detach the Disk while the VM is still in Deleting(running) state so that we can start up service on a new machine.

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Platform .

And yes , This is be design and we cannot perform any other operation on the VM while there is another{CRUD} in progress .

Unfortunately , There is no way to perform another operation before the current CRUD operation is completed .
