SharePoint 2013 Workflow action 'Start a List workflow' - does parent workflow wait for child before executing the next action?

Hello, I am debugging some issues with SharePoint workflows and have a SharePoint 2013 Workflow (Parent) that is using the 'Start a List workflow' action to start a separate SharePoint 2010 workflow (Child). It APPEARS that the parent SharePoint 2013 workflow waits until the child SharePoint 2010 workflow finished before it executes it's next action. I am having a hard time confirming this. Can anyone confirm this is correct?

@roberoach

Per my test, the parent SharePoint 2013 workflow waits until the child SharePoint 2010 workflow finished then it will execute the next action.

@EmilyDu-MSFT Thanks for the reply! I agree my tests indicate the same. For this specific business scenario I need to confirm this is the behavior of this workflow action. It seemed like something I should be able to confirm in some official documentation of the action. I guess that is my desired answer for this question. Thanks

Per my research, there is no official Microsoft documentation indicates that the parent SharePoint 2013 workflow waits until the child SharePoint 2010 workflow finished then it will execute the next action.

In my opinion, the test result can confirm this default behavior.
