About shared disk connections

Thanks for your help.
I would like to know if you know anything about Azure shared disk connections.

I would like to have multiple VMs connect to the Azure shared disk, but I have confirmed the specification that if you specify an availability zone, the VM to which the shared disk is connected must also be specified in the same availability zone, and it is not possible to connect from different availability zones.
However, why is it possible to connect to a shared disk located in a different availability zone for VMs that are part of an availability set?

I have attached the image in the attachment, please let me know.

I believe this is due to the difference between an Availability Zone and Availability Set. The differences are noted on the page: Availability options for Azure Virtual Machines

Each Availability Zone has a distinct power source, network, and cooling. Where an availability set is a logical grouping of VMs that allows Azure to understand how your application is built to provide for redundancy and availability.
