Mail attribute not updating

When we change the on prem AD mail attribute it does not change the mail attribute for the user after ADConnect sync.

On the sync log I can see the changes made and says sync was successful, however when looking in Azure users the old value remains.

If I do this same test on a test account it changes without issues.

    I have looked over that but I don't know what to do with that information.

    The export tells me it has 1 update.
    When looking on the properties for this export the mail attribute has "modify" with the old and new values
    When I generate a preview the mail attribute has no changes and only displays the old value
