Win 10 1709 and 1803 update disables Realtek Audio Manager.

I have an aging Fujitsu lifebook AH512 laptop which uses the Realtek Audio Manager.

Win10 versions 1709 and 1803 both remove this necessary advanced audio controls utility from my system by overwriting the earlier driver.

I have an earlier Realtek HDA driver which when I install brings the utility back into operation.

However, this is not the latest driver as provided with Wi10 1709 and 1803 versions update.

Consequently, a driver update check notifies me I am not using the latest driver, (as recommended) whenever I get the Realtek Audio Manager working again.

As I need to use the boost function on the Realtek Audio Manager - to boost my (very weak) sound, I am perplexed.

Do I install the earlier dated driver which activates Realtek audio manager (circa 2014) and ignore the update to a later version or is there something wrong with Win10 1803?

The Realtek Audio manager app still appears in C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA  showing the RAVbg64 application, but when you run it (administrator or otherwise) it simply fails to work.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated, or if as I suspect, there are more of you out there with the same problem, then please click the "I have the same problem" button so MS starts to take some notice.

    Thank you. 

    Yes, the later driver is from Realtek but Audio  Manager shows as installed but it won't run.

    It seems the question is:

    Is Win 10 1803 incompatible with Realtek's driver or is Realtek's driver incompatible with Win 10?

    You may need an updated customized driver that works in 1803.

    Can you do the following :

    In the Device Manager double-click the Realtek adapter > Driver

    What is the "Driver Version" ?

    Then click on the "Details" tab, then choose "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down menu under "Property".

    What is listed under "Value"?

    Thanks for your effort but none of these links provided an answer.

    My sound is working using a windows generic driver, installed by Win10 1803 update.

    My problem is this does not give me access to the Realtek advanced audio settings which is an application.

    The application is still installed as I explained above but will not run in 1709 or 1803 even under compatibility and or Administrator mode.

    If I install the Realtek Driver from 2014 then the app is activated and runs OK under 1803 but this is an older driver which gets updated back to Win generic sound driver again.
