You don't need to remove SSAS, just change a value in msmdsrv.ini and then restart SSAS. For the detail steps, please refer to this thread.
But now you already removed it, right? Based on my test, I removed all features of SQL Server 2017 and then reinstall it, it was successfully. Have you remove all SQL Server 2017 features?
