Unable to view errors .net framework web app

This is my first Web app in Azure (.Net Framework). When I publish, I get an error "An application error occurred on the server." The error message further explains about <customErrors mode="Off/>, which I added to web.config; however, I still get the generic "An application error occurred on the server." So, my problem is two-fold :

  1. How to turn off customErrors, so that I can see what the problem really is

  2. Fix the problem

By the way, the app works just fine locally, so the problem is in Azure deployment.

Hi @CaryBruestle-9987,

You can enable logging from the App Service logs blade. Your web.config should be published along with your artifacts but you can always check the file directly on the Kudu console (<your-app-service>.scm.azurewebsites.net) through the Debug Console. As for (2), you will need to post what you're seeing from the logs.
