Admin Required to join ANY Microsft forum

Why do I need an admin account within my organization to do something as simple as join one of Microsoft user forums? I've tried with several sites, asp.et , the new .Net Tech forums and each time I try to log in with mmy Microsoft account to participate in a user forum I get the message;
XXXX needs permission to access resources in your organization that only an admin can grant. Please ask an admin to grant permission to this app before you can use it.
It's ABSURD that someone has to be and admin so XXX can access resources just to join a user forums to ask questions. Has MS lost its mind?
NOTE: I was forced to pick a tag but could find none corresponding to my issue so i had to select some unrelated random tag,. You really need a tag that is more of a generic HELP.
